Restomods | Alfaholics GTA-R 290, JIA Jensen Interceptor R, Tuthill Porsche 911

Published: Oct 29, 2019. Exciting stuff from Autocar today as we try some modernised classics - restomods, if you like. This isn't a conventional group test, because the three cars we've assembled all do very different things. The Alfaholics GTA-R is an Alfa Romeo 105-series coupe that has seen the mother of all makeovers. With 240bhp and weighing just 840kg, its power-to-weight ratio is some 290bhp/tonne (hence the name) and fully seam welded, with carbonfibre panels and bespoke engine and gearbox internals and suspension, it's a true track car. The Jensen Interceptor R by Jensen International Automotive is more road car than track car. But don't think that this reworked Interceptor is slow: JIA has squeezed a supercharged Chevy LSA engine under the hood, making more than 550bhp. But, as we'll see, it may be more cruiser than sports car. Sitting somewhere between the two, in ethos, is a Porsche 911 modified and modernised by renowned specialists Tuthill. They'll do almost anything you want to a 911 but here they've taken an early 70s 911 E and made it all-round lovelier. It's a terrific blend of road and track performance. The base for our test is Llandow circuit in Wales so join our testers James Disdale, Matt Prior and Matt Saunders as they try these three brilliant reimagined classics. Check Out the NEW Aston Martin Valhalla! | FIRST LOOK
  • Published 15th July 2021. This is the new Aston Martin Valhalla, and a first look to check it out! Join me to take a full tour around the hybrid V8 supercar, fully updated from the original concept a few years prior, and now entering production in 2023. Let's go through all of the details! After launching as the AM-RB 003 concept, Valhalla sits in the line-up between the Valkyrie hypercar and future concept Vanquish sportscar, as part of a 3 tier mid-engine strategy. With Valkyrie on the bring of production commencing, Valhalla will start deliveries in Q4 2023 at a price of £600-700,000 with taxes. It's a series-production offering with no specific limited build number, and will be in production for two and a half years in total. For the production spec Valhalla, it mixes a flat plane crank 4.0l TT V8 with two electric motors for a total hybrid output of 950hp; with 750 coming from the combustion engine and 204hp from the electric motors. The numbers are impressive, as is the target Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time of 6:30. Although there's no interior to explore of this model, it will follow from the original concept with a seating position directly in the tub, with heels above hips to give a real racecar feeling. No doubt it will be a special car to drive! Thanks for watching, Tim

Chevron B8 sound on the track - full throttle acceleration
  • This video is about some Chevron B8s I saw at Monza Circuit. The white one I think it's a Chevron B8 Continuation: in fact Chevron offers all the specifications in order to built a "new" Chevron B8. I think that because all the components of the engine seemed to me a bit new and very clean. The others Chevrons you saw are for sure original ones, maybe they have been modified but the chassis is the original one made in the far 1968 -1970.
